Grade R
“I hear and forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.” Children need to “do” and “experience” things in order to learn.
Our Grade R Learners are taught the CAPS Curriculum as devised by the Department of Education including the subjects, mathematics, language and life skills through integrated play-based activities.
We teach the Letterland Reading Program.
Mathematical concepts taught include Numbers, patterns, shape and space (geometry), measurement and data handling.
Social Emotional skills is an important part of the curriculum and plays a vital role in managing their emotions and developing a healthy self-esteem.
