Grade R

“I hear and forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.” Children need to “do” and “experience” things in order to learn.

  • Our Grade R Learners are taught the CAPS Curriculum as devised by the Department of Education including the subjects, mathematics, language and life skills through integrated play-based activities.

  • We teach the Letterland Reading Program.

  • Mathematical concepts taught include Numbers, patterns, shape and space (geometry), measurement and data handling.

  • Social Emotional skills is an important part of the curriculum and plays a vital role in managing their emotions and developing a healthy self-esteem.
